Test Stringing
Well the Christmas decorations are up so now I can get back to work. I just completed a test stringing. All the moving joints fit and work properly. Time to move on to the many coats of china paint.
Soft Fire
I finally soft fired this doll and finished sculpting the head for a larger master BJD
Just have to clean it up a bit and add some ears
Focus!
Alright it’s time to start focusing, and I picked the projects I chose to start doing that with. I’ve got 2 things going on at the moment… I have to finish up some BJD body parts before they go in the kiln for a soft fire and I’m starting a new sculpt for a BJD to mold and cast. I will be showing pix as I progress. I will start a new blog to show my work in progress and my finished dolls but for right now it will be shown here. I’ll keep you posted with the news of the switch when it’s official.

Learning To Be a Doll Artist
I finally got my hands on a copy of Learning to be a Doll Artist. Opening my mailbox was like Christmas Morning!
- I’m also working on a new porcelain doll. I’ll post some progress pics soon.
Wigging
Olivia’s hair is almost ready for a bit of styling. I’ve made a wig cap so her hair will be removable. I’m only doing one wig at the moment she is a little tired of hanging around naked. She has requested something to cover up.
Assembled
Well after many trials and tribulations she is all put together. I felt like the mad doctor putting her together, with body parts strewn about my desk. I will say this was the most difficult part I’ve encountered so far. Having an extra hand would have been helpful. My hands hurt and I should probably go get a tetnus shot after being stabbed with wire that many times. Not to mention, my confidence in my ability came crashing down at times. But I finally did it. Here are some preliminary shots. She stands too. She is a little trouble maker but I love her. Oh yeah, her name is Olivia. What’s that? Oh you need some hair…..
